With this visa, you can have your internship within Guangdong Province and start your business. During this period, you can apply for work residence permit if you are employed by a company.

China Residence Permit for 5 Years

From August 1, foreigners can apply for China Residence Permit for within 5 years if you have applied for work category China Residence Permit for 2 times in a row. Before August 1, only high level experts or investors can apply for China Residence Permit for within 5 years. The new policy makes foreign employees qualified for the China Residence Permit for within 5 years.

Please noted that this policy only works in Guangdong Province.

News for China Work Visa Application

For China Work Visa Application, there are some new policies. However, these policies are only applicable in Guangdong Province. If you apply for China Work Visa in Guangdong Province, these policies will be very helpful.

Before August 1, 2016, you need to leave China to apply for Z Visa. Now the new policies include the followings,

1. Job Interview at Immigration

2. Apply for Employment Permit at Labor Department

3. Apply for Invitation Letter at Commercial Bureau

4. Leave Mainland China and go to Hong Kong or Macao then come back to Mainland China and apply for Z Visa at arrival port

5. Apply for Residence Permit

Things You need to Know about Obtaining a China Work Visa

In our previous blog, we talked about how to get a Chinese residence permit. One of the ways of obtaining the residence permit is from a work visa. Some may have question or opinion that it is difficult to get a work visa. In fact, it is not that difficult. You need to meet some requirements:

1.You need to be an expert that China needs for example a professor at a university, a manager of the well known company, an English teacher with certificates of TESOL and teaching experience, a researcher of high tech industry, coaches or players of sports teams in China, or
2.You are employed by a Chinese company for example you have special talent that it is hard to find such talent in China and this Chinese company must employ you, or
3.You open a company by yourself. You are the legal person, investor and shareholder.

In most cases, the government requires applicants to have at least 2 years work experience if they are bachelor degree holders or have higher degrees. If they are diploma holders or have lower diplomas, they need to have 5 years work experience.

Usually, it is hard for a primary school or a junior middle school graduate to apply for work visa but the case is different if they open the company by themselves and they are the boss of the company.

China welcomes talents and investment. For many people, the best way to obtain a China work visa is by opening a company.

How to open a company in China?
Let’s take the city of Guangzhou China for example. If applicants are in Guangzhou, they need to provide the passport original and original bank reference letter from countries or areas outside of China. If applicants are not in China, they need to provide passport notarization from foreign affair department of their home country and get it approved by Chinese embassy or consulates located in their home country as well as an original bank reference letter from countries or areas outside of China.
Of course, you will need an office for opening a company. If you want to do business, you can find a physical office and get the rental contract. If you just want a China work visa without the willing of doing business, you can find someone who can provide you with a virtual office and a rental contract for that. Things You need to Know about Chinese Residence Permit

Chinese Residence Permit is for foreigners to stay long time in China for work, study or family union. So you might know that the categories for Chinese Residence Permit is divided into work, study and family. What are the things do we need to know about Chinese Residence Permit? How can we apply for it?

Work Category Residence Permit needs about 35 working days to finish. It is usually valid for 1 year.

How can we apply for work category residence permit?

You can either look for a job in China or open a company in China for work category residence permit. If you look for a job, the employer needs to help you to apply for residence permit. They need to provide their business license and you need to provide your no crime record, previous work experience certificate and educational diploma. If you open a company, you need to register a company first and get the business license. What is the procedure?

The procedure is employment interview, employment permit, invitation letter. After you have employment permit and invitation letter, you need to bring these two documents back to your country and apply for an Z visa. You need to come back to China with your Z visa. After you come back, you need to apply for employment certificate and residence permit.

Study Category Residence Permit needs about 3 weeks to finish. It is usually valid according to your study term. If your study term is from September 2016 to June 2017, it is valid for 9 months.

How can we apply for study category residence permit?

Of course, this category is study which means you need a school in China to give you letter of acceptance.

What is the procedure?

You need to bring your letter of acceptance back to your country and apply for X visa to come back to China. After you are back to China, you need to apply for the residence permit.

Family Category Residence Permit is for foreigners to come to China and be with their families. There are two types, one is for foreigners who marry Chinese and the other is for foreigners who come to China to reunite with their spouses who have been working in China. It needs about 3 weeks to finish. And it is usually valid for 1 year.

How can we apply for family category residence permit?

You need to provide the certificate for your relationship for example you need to provide marriage certificate and for children you need to provide birth certificate as well as an invitation letter provided by the inviter.

What is the procedure?

For those who marry Chinese, you need to apply for Q visa in your country first. And for whose who are spouses of foreign staff in China, you need to apply for S visa in your country first. Then both these visa type holders come to China and apply for residence permit.
