l How many types of China Visa?
China visa is divided into diplomatic visa, courtesy visa, official visa and general visa. General visa has 16 types which are as follows:
ü C Visa: For flight captains, flight staff, international train staff and crews
ü D Visa: For permanent residence
ü F Visa: For communication, visit and investigation
ü G Visa: For transit
ü J1 Visa: For journalists stay over 180 days
ü J2 Visa: For journalists stay fewer than 180 days
ü L Visa: For tourists
ü M Visa: For businessmen
ü Q1 Visa: For family reunion with Chinese citizens and stay for over 180 days (e.g spouse is Chinese)
ü Q2 Visa: For family reunion with Chinese citizens and stay for fewer than 180 days (e.g spouse is Chinese)
ü R Visa: For high level experts needed in China
ü S1 Visa: For family members of foreign experts, workers or students and stay for over 180 days
ü S2 Visa: For family members of foreign experts, workers or students and stay for fewer than 180 days
ü X1 Visa: For students who stay in China for over 180 days
ü X2 Visa: For students who stay in China for fewer than 180 days
ü Z Visa: For foreign workers
l Are Hong Kong Visa and Macao Visa the same as China Visa?
Although Hong Kong and Macao are territories of China, they have different institutions and we call it One Country Two Institutions. Therefore, Hong Kong and Macao have different visas. They are not the same as China Visa. Even Chinese people need special visas to go there. Hong Kong and Macao is visa free to many countries. You will know whether you need to get visa to go to Hong Kong and Macao or not.
l What kind of visas do foreign travelers need to go to China?
As a traveler, you apply L visa.
You need the followings to go to embassies or consulates located in your country to apply:
ü Valid Passports for over 6 Months
ü Visa Photos
ü Residence Permit (if you do not apply from your nationality country)
ü Air Ticket Pre Order or Hotel Pre Order, or
ü Invitation Letter from China Company or Individual, includes followings
a. Invitee’s Personal Information: Name, Gender, Date of Birth
a. Invitee’s Personal Information: Name, Gender, Date of Birth
b. Invitee’s schedule: Arrival and Departure Dates as well as Traveling Places
C. Inviter’s company or individual information: Inviter’s company name or inviter’s name, telephone number, address, company seal, legal person or inviter’s signature
l How can foreign travelers get visa extension if the time is limited?
There are many companies in China who can help you with visa extension. Normally, you can extend for 2 weeks to 1 month.
You need the followings:
ü Passport Original
ü Visa photo and photo receipt
ü Temporary Residence Form
ü Travel Schedule
l What is a temporary residence form?
When a foreigner arrives in China, you need to apply for temporary residence form at your residence hotel or from a police station within 24 hours. Please remember.
